Another from my personal collection of over 50,000 UK albums that I have accumulated over a period of more than 45 years or more! This is the earliest possible 1st UK Pressing of Rory Gallagher "Stage Struck" album released in 1980 very scarce and collectable to find in this tip top condition! A very under rated album in my opinion because it didn't sell that well when released. The audio quality is absolutely stunning through out this album. The vinyl looks and sounds like it has been barely ever played at all. (Only one spider trace barely visable on the labels) The audio is graded as near mint cristal clear and very, very vibrant through out. There are no needle scratches or marks that would cause any loud annoying constant clicks or pops on this vinyl. The original 1st issue unlaminated cover is also in exceptional condition being stored in a case with the vinyl removed and separated from the cover for protection, . This is how I have always stored my records! Cover is also graded at least excellent! A very collectable and sought after album especially in this condition!

Stage Struck is the third live album by Irish singer/guitarist Rory Gallagher.

Released in 1980, it documents his world tour in support of his 1979 album Top Priority.

Accordingly, it features many songs from that album, but it also includes songs from his previous albums.

The album sees Gallagher taking a faster-paced, more hard rock sound than on his previous blues-dominated live albums.

Originally released with eight tracks, Stage Struck was augmented with two bonus tracks ("Bad Penny" and "Key Chain") when reissued in 1999, four years after Gallagher's death, by his younger brother and manager, Donal Gallagher.

In 2005, Stage Struck was ranked number 419 in Rock Hard magazine's book of The 500 Greatest Rock & Metal Albums of All Time.

Rory Gallagher was an Irish blues and rock multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and bandleader. Born in Ballyshannon, County Donegal,[3] and brought up in Cork, Gallagher recorded solo albums throughout the 1970s and 1980s, after forming the band Taste during the late 1960s. He was a talented guitarist known for his charismatic performances and dedication to his craft. Gallagher's albums have sold in excess of 30 million copies worldwide. Gallagher received a liver transplant in 1995, but died of complications later that year in London, UK at the age of 47.

After the break-up of Taste, Gallagher toured under his own name, hiring former Deep Joy bass player Gerry McAvoy to play on Gallagher's self-titled debut album, Rory Gallagher.

It was the beginning of a twenty-year musical relationship between Gallagher and McAvoy; the other band member was drummer Wilgar Campbell. The 1970s were Gallagher's most prolific period. He produced ten albums in that decade, including two live albums, Live in Europe and Irish Tour '74. November 1971 saw the release of the album Deuce.

The Matrix

Side 2 "CHR1280 B#6" ("SOUND CLINIC" Hand Etched ) Master Pressers Signature!

The Vinyl

This is the original thicker , heavier chunky slab of vinyl only found like this on the earliest original pressings! (Later press are much more flimsier and less robust)!

The vinyl lays perfectly flat on the turntable and is free of any warps. The vinyl has retained its original sheen from new in my opinion on initial inspection this looks like it has obviously not been played that much and in my opinion, at least there are barely one visable spider trace on the labels that I can see!! On close inspection any marks that could possibly be seen would be very light sleeve removal/scuffs only but importantly no audio sounding marks or needle marks that would cause any loud clicks or pops that I heard at all!

The audio quality

I have played this track for track at very loud volume prior to listing at very loud volume two times! From the moment that the needle hits the playing surface , it is obvious that this vinyl not only visually but audibly has only had very very minimal play only! The audio is stunning cristal clear and vibrant, very bright and clear throughout without any signs of distortion at all and plays with a lovely deep bassey feel only found like this on earliest pressings! Note! Minor light and isolated static/ticks heard in between some tracks only. I would grade the audio very near as mint in my opinion! (I don't think that you will find better very rich and vibrant through out)

Please note! I always add this disclaimer! Please allow for isolated static/ticks only, and not consistent through out the audio. Please remember that this is a genuine 43 year old record that would have originally been played on a 42 year old system.

The Labels

These are the original Chrysalis labels (see photos)   The labels are rich in colour and are very clean , all text is fully readable. It is obvious to me that this vinyl has only had barely been played only by the fact that I find it hard to even see a spider mark, Perhapes just one feint trace can just be seen around the spindle hole,   the spindle hole is free of any  ware and of course is perfectly round!

The Record Sleeve

This is the original two sided picture inner record sleeve no splits or tares very nice!

The Cover

This Is The Original 1st UK issue Un-laminated Chrysalis shiny cover in absolutely stunning condition through out, concidering this is 36 years old and unlaminated! No splits or tares.  all text is readable! There is very, very light rubbing/storage wear with age and mostly is only noticed if looked for in my opinion  but  no real nasty creases to report. Note: There is some price sticker removal residue on the front to mention, noticed when looked at angled to the light. The cover has always been seperated from the vinyl and sleeve since purchased from new! The rear is also clean minor wear/rubbing only! The spine is square Unbeleivably rare like this! Graded at  least better than excellent in my opinion!
