Scan not a friend with a microscopic glass,
You know his faults, now let the foibles pass.
Life is one long enigma, my friend,
So read on, read on, the answer's at the end.

Don't be so hard on the ones that you love,
It's the ones that you love, we think so little of.
Don't be so hard on the ones that you need,
It's the ones that you need, we think so little of.

The speech of flowers excels the flowers of speech,
But what's often in your heart, is the hardest thing to reach,
And life is one long mystery, my friend,
So live on, live on, the answer's at the end.

Don't be so hard on the ones that you love,
It's the ones that you love, we think so little of.
Don't be so hard on the ones that you need,
It's the ones that you need, we think so little of.

Oh, we think so little of the ones that we love, sometimes,
Isn't it a pity, how we hurt the ones that we love the most of all,
The one's we shouldn't hurt at all.

You know my faults, now let the foibles pass.
'Cause life is one long enigma, my friend,
Live on, live on, the answer's at the end.

Don't be so hard on the ones that you love,
It's the ones that you love, we think so little of.
Don't be so hard on the ones that you need,
It's the ones that you need, we think so little of.

The ones that we love, we hurt the most of all, sometimes,
And isn't it a pity how we hurt the ones that we love.
GEORGE HARRISON: "Extra Texture (Read All About It)" LP, VERY FIRST UK PRESSING, 18th OCTOBER, 1975

TEXTURED APPLE LABEL: PAS 10009.

  MAITRIX: YEX 947 - 1U /  YEX   948 - 1U.
EMI began the indexing with '- 1U ' on the end per individual side, this is positively a very first pressing.
EMI STAMPING CODES: AD 2 /  OG 2

THE RUN-OUT GROOVES ALSO HAVE SCRIBED ON EITHER SIDE: (From George.....to George!)

"A Porky / Tone Prime Cut "

"Ooh George, you're such a Dark Horse, Luv George"

'PORKY' / GEORGE PECKHAM, UK VINYL CUTTER SUPREME, LEFT THE SECOND MESSAGE TO GEORGE...FROM GEORGE,
ON THESE FIRST UK PRESSINGS.

All the above stamped & scribed details show this is the first UK pressing record, I have pictured 'A Porky / Tone Fine Cut'
and the second long message from George in two compiled pictures.

THICK CARD COLOUR PICTURES INNER SLEEVE, WITH "OHNOTHIMAGEN" PRINTED ON ONE SIDE'S BOTTOM RIM.
TYPICAL OF THIS ERA'S APPLE INNERS, FOR EASY REPLACEMENT, ONE BOTTOM CORNER IS SHAPED AT 45 DEGREES
AND THE OTHER AT 90 DEGREES.   THE TOP PAIR OF CORNERS ARE ALSO MITERED OR SHAPED 45 DEGREES.
NO SPLITS,TEARS OR HANDLING WEAR, JUST AN INEVITABLE BUT GENTLE IMPRESSION FROM THE HEAVY RECORD.
IN REMARKABLE MINT- CONDITION.

FIRST ISSUE ('EXTRA') TEXTURED / EMBOSSED (ORANGE PEEL) COVER, WITH RAISED LETTERING ALBUM TITLES.
THE SPINE HAS A VERY DISTINCTIVE SHAPE, THE ENDINGS ARE POINTED AND THE MAIN PART IS FLAT.
JUST SAYING THE SHAPED SPINE IS AS CLOSE TO PERFECT AS IT POSSIBLY GETS, ACTS AS THE GRADING.
A MATT, EMBOSSED COVER WITH RAISED LETTERING WAS OBVIOUSLY PRONE TO RUBBING FROM DAY ONE IN
OCTOBER, 1975, THIS HAS HARDLY ANY RUBBING BUT I WILL NOT CLAIM THE IMPOSSIBLE.  JUST THE SLIGHTEST
AND CERTAINLY NO MORE THAN WHEN THE COVER WAS FACTORY ASSEMBLED, PACKED AND DISTRIBUTED IN 1975.
THAT CAN BE VERIFIED BY THERE NOT BEING ANY FORM OF RUBBING OR WEAR TO ANY OF THE FRONT TITLE'S LARGE
NAVY BLUE LETTERING OR THE SMALLER "George Harrison."  EVEN MORE AMAZING, THE COMPREHENSIVE TRACK
DETAILS AND CREDITS RAISED LETTERING ON THE BACK, ARE ALSO TOTALLY UNRUBBED AND UNWORN, SO
ARE ALL THE NAVY BLUE LETTERING ON THE SPINE, 100% PRESENT AND CORRECT.  A GENTLE RECORD IMPRESSION
AND ANY MINUSCULE STANDING IN STORAGE TRAITS FOR THE LAST 41 YEARS, ARE TOO TRIVIAL TO INCLUDE.
I will be leaving this very rare unplayed record.... unplayed by myself, as I will have to miss out hearing and describing the
tracks, it will be something else to concentrate on.
THE COVER WAS UNUSED AND PERFECTLY STORED, IN NEAR MINT CONDITION.

LIKE ALL THE VERY FIRST PRESSINGS, THIS IS SURPRISINGLY MASSIVELY HEAVYWEIGHT VINYL FOR 1975,
THE THICKNESS OF THE RECORD IS OF THE SAME STANDARD AS VINYL FROM THE 1960's DECADE,  ADDING TO
THE REASON MOST FIRST ISSUE COVERS ARE SO BADLY WORN NOW.
THERE ARE NO SPINDLE ALIGNMENT TRACES ON THE TEXTURED/MATT LABELS, AN UNPLAYED RECORD AND
THE VINYL IS GLEAMING LIKE NEW.   I WOULD REALLY LIKE TO STOP STATING THE OBVIOUS FOR THE  ULTIMATE
CONDITION RECORDS I HAVE CONSISTENTLY SOLD ON EBAY.  FIFTEEN YEARS IS A LONG TIME TO KEEP REPEATING
RECORDS WERE HANDLED AT THE PRESSING PLANTS AND RECORD SHOPS... BUT THEY WERE AND STILL ARE IN
2016.   ANY FEATHER LIGHT, NEAR INVISIBLE TRACES FROM THAT HANDLING WERE THERE WHEN THIS RECORD
WAS MADE IN OCTOBER, 1975.
THE RECORD IS IN UNPLAYED MINT CONDITION.

All Songs Written By George Harrison.
Produced by George Harrison.
Recorded June & July 1975 at A&M Studios, Los Angeles, except the backing tracks to "You" & "A Bit More Of You", which were
recorded in England, February 1971.
Throughout 2016 I found it becoming extremely difficult to locate George's solo albums in top condition, the same has applied to
all the solo Beatles LP's, so I'm delighted to have this ultimate first UK "Extra Texture" record, cover & inner sleeve to offer.
I only sell any of the Beatles solo albums in as near to Mint condition as I possibly can, then I have always that a really hard
standard to meet for George Harrison's albums from any decade.  "Extra Texture" has proven to be one of the toughest for the
condition of the cover, inner sleeve and in particular, the record. There were so many of his great albums that failed to sell or
chart, which alone is reason enough to explain the every growing scarcity of them, but "Extra Texture" did sell. So in this case
the reason the overwhelming majority of the UK first pressings are in such a badly worn out state, concerns very heavy plays and
and multiple handling.  George wrote the whole album and it was those fantastic songs, the music and vocals, the production and
performances of the musicians listed above, that led to it becoming a record, cover and inner sleeve associated with excessive
wear. George had tremendous success with his first two solo studio albums,"All Things Must Pass" made No. 4 in the UK charts in
1971 and "Living In The Material World" reached No.2 in 1973.   Released between those studio LP's in 1972, was another triple
album box set containing the Bangla Desh Concert George organised for the famine stricken country.  After "Material World" in
1973, "Dark Horse" followed  the same fate as "The Concert For Bangla Desh" and completely failed to sell enough copies to make a
UK chart entry.  Despite the previous album's title,"Dark Horse" was released on the Apple/EMI label George was still contracted
to since the Beatles, the LP title would later become the name of George Harrison's own label.   He was still with Apple for this
1975, "Extra Texture" (Read All About It)," but it was the final Apple album because their EMI contract finally expired in 1976.

"Extra Texture" faired better with the often fickle British record buyers, if not quite a prolonged residence, it was only in the
charts for four weeks and peaked at No.16. Fourty one years later "Extra Texture" is certainly very rare as a first pressing in
top condition.  Of course I could have offer a scruffy, battered copy, but I  am not interested in the scratched worn out records
in split, torn or even completely missing the wonderful  "Extra Texture (Read All About It)" thick cardboard, colour card picture
inner sleeve, then most first  issue covers are in a really dreadful state. The superb covers have a textured, embossed or bobbly
surface, just like an orange's peel, no doubt to match the background colour, with the navy blue lettering raised or embossed as
well, making them really vulnerable to severe scuffing and rampant ring wear. The American cover had the front LP title lettering
die-cut, the inner sleeve showing through created the navy blue colour from the inner sleeve, that colour was also used on the
back for the track listing and credits, either of the two designs created a '3D' effect for the front cover, but had equal reasons
for not withstanding heavy use.  With constant use and the average storage, the once bright, deep orange colour faded away,
leaving a washed out yellow among the white sub-surface paper/ ring wear , I avoid those sorry looking worn out objects and
patiently wait for ta rare record, cover and inner that were carefully and lovingly kept in as near to perfect condition as time
allows.possible.  This stunning first pressing is my ideal "Extra Texture" to offer for sale, the lettering is totally unworn and
none of the usual rubbing to the embossed orange background.  Most importantly of all, the sound quality of the record still
100% perfectly preserved within these Mint grooves to do the full justice to an album of such a high musical and audio standard.
I will respect it being unplayed, the stunning audio perfection of an Apple/EMI very first pressing is here in all it's original
glory, unheard since 1975 is unbelievable!   For me "Extra Texture" was one of George's finest albums with every single track an
  outstanding George Harrison composition, as usual the backing musicians were close friends and of the best pedigree, including;
Billy Preston, Gary Wright, Leon Russell, Tom Scott, Nicky Hopkins, Jesse Ed Davis and Klaus Voorman etc. etc.  The songs were
so special, "You" alone is worth hearing the album for, so is "This Guitar (Can't Keep From Crying)", I do love listing true Mint
records, but it is frustrating not hearing and describing such a fantastic album.

As I just commented, George's early solo 1970's records were obviously issued on the Apple label he had a stake in, but by 1975
he had grown disillusioned with the original 1967 concept of the Beatles' own record company, in reality really belonging to EMI.
to EMI.   His contract certainly tied him to them and the brilliant "Extra Texture" became his final album released on Apple and
the labels are like the back cover, portraying the Apple logo eaten down to the core, symbolising how the Beatles' 1960's dream
dream and the idealism of owning a record company had degenerated.  George Harrison was a deeply spiritual man with really strong
principles, as well as having such a great sense of humour!

The pristine condition orange, beige, white & navy colour labels are literally like new, without any spindle alignment traces,
the record is gleaming with that very special glossy sheen of mint vinyl, without any  marks.  I have discussed factory handling
and how it had to be held but that is near invisible. This stunning condition first edition record was pressed on EMI / Apple's
top grade heavyweight vinyl, reserved for some of their first pressings.
Both front and back of the first covers has a textured "bobbly" finish with the large titles in navy blue, embossed and slightly
raised to end with a smooth finish.  The main background colour is the original ultra bright and deep orange colour and the blue
lettering is completely unworn.  Every letter is unscuffed on the front, even the back lettering on the top rim does not have the
really common rubbing, how some of the covers were first delivered to record shops in 1975!   That is rarely found unless
the cover was immediately  protected by a plastic outer sleeve, as this was.  The heavyweight record has sat  inside this cover
untouched for all of those last 41 years but the impression is exceptionally mild without any wear, just the very lightest of light
brushing to a few of the 'peaks' of the raised or textured embossed patterns. I find it so frustrating to discuss so little when a
record inside had not played, covers had to be stored and the design and top surface of this particular one  has to be taken on
it's individual vulnerability all those near four decades later. The front and back bottom sections where the record's placement
is inside, is completely unworn, which is really a compliment to the one original owner's loving care with the storage.   Gravity
alone causes record impression, but definitely no ring wear on the front or back.

All the corners and the edges are exceptional with such minimal brushing, I would name them as being in near perfect condition.
The  grading includes such trivialities, for such a radically textured surface, this is indeed exceptional condition.

The spine is still in the first issue only, distinctive, original shape, flat on the main part with the top and bottom inch or so
pinched into a point.  This is in superb condition with the merest rubbing, a lovingly cared for, beautiful "Extra Texture" cover
and inner sleeve

The first issue inner sleeve is made from very thick card with two different pictures of George on either side, as a first issue
this is identical in shape to the inner in Pink Floyd's 1975, "Wish You Were Here" LP.  One corner on the bottom  edge is cut
diagonally like the top opening's corners, to make replacement easier.  A feature for other EMI connected inner sleeves from this
same period, re-issues are always in the more economical to make, square shape.  Most of these have long ago been split by such a
heavy record, but not this one, in outstanding Mint- condition.

    R & M RECORDS.

My lifetime's love of music and records began at a very young age, the arrival of the Beatles and the 1960's decade
in general had a very profound effect. It was only natural to bring all my first hand experience of collecting vinyl
into becoming a professional record seller.  Nearly thirty years ago we entered into the wonderful atmosphere
of record fairs with the highest possible standards set. When the Internet became the world's new market place for
vinyl, in 2001 it was time to join ebay. Those standards were rigidly adhered to as they will always continue to be,
the basics of honesty and integrity were very much part of the era the music I love originated in, so here is our friendly
and very efficient service we are proud to provide;

EVERY RECORD IS FULLY PLAYED AND COMES WITH A 'NO ARGUMENT' MONEY BACK GUARANTEE.
I USE GOOD OLD COMMON SENSE AS WELL AS A GLOBALLY ACCEPTED GRADING TERMINOLOGY
FROM THE U.K. "RECORD COLLECTOR PRICE GUIDE" BOOK.
THERE IT CLEARLY STATES "Sound Quality" AFFECTS EVERY GRADING LEVEL AND THAT IS THE ONE
AND ONLY POSSIBLE WAY TO ACCURATELY GRADE RECORDS. i.e. COMBINING A STRICT VISUAL
INSPECTION WITH VERY CLOSELY LISTENING TO EVERY SECOND, UNLESS PERHAPS IN THE CASE
OF GENUINELY UNPLAYED VINYL.  EVEN THEN WE STILL TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR A RECORD
WHEN A CUSTOMER RECEIVES EITHER A SEALED OR AN UNPLAYED RECORD.

We take 100% responsibility after an item has been posted and offer our fullest support in the event of any problems.

We have kept all our charges at the same level for years now, but due to the Post Office's new price increases, regretfully we
will have to increase the cost of LP's, however, singles will remain unchanged.  Ebay were aware of that happening and have
increased their minimum postal cost for LP's to £7.00, that figure has been enforced by the UK Post Office and it will become
our UK First Class, Recorded Delivery cost for albums up to the value of £46.  A temporary reduction this week means we can
now post LP's for £5, but who knows how long before the Post Office return to £7?

For LP's valued above £46, the cost will be £9, we are unhappy about either increase but our high standard of packaging has meant
in 13 years of ebay trading, there has not been one record damaged, we are determined to maintain that in the present and future.

IN THE UK RECORDS UP TO THE VALUE OF £46 WILL BE SENT RECORDED DELIVERY, OVER £46 WILL BE
SENT SPECIAL DELIVERY.
