ITEM DESCRIPTION:

This beautiful and very rare LP from Deutsche Grammophon (LP 8592 / 008 592 A, LP pressed in Germany / jacket printed in Belgium, AH tulip label, mono) entitled "Un Soirée avec les Solistes de Bruxelles" features legendary violinist Lola Bobesco leading a virtuoso chamber orchestra in works by Vivaldi, Leclair and Marcello – "live" performances recorded in the warm acoustics of la Salle Gothique de l'Hotel de Ville de Bruxelles on 8 July 1965.

The exact program is as follows:

Antonio Vivaldi: Sinfonia in G Major for Strings & Harpsichord

Antonio Vivaldi: Triple Concerto in C Major for 2 Cellos, Violin, Strings & Harpsichord

Jean-Marie Leclair: Concerto in C Major for Oboe, Strings & Harpsichord

            > with Heinz Holliger, oboe

Benedetto Marcello: Introduzione, Aria e Presto for Strings

The reverse side of the jacket carries complete title / track information, a photo of Bobesco and ensemble, and press reviews of their various concerts. The striking cover photo shows l'Hotel de Ville de Bruxelles (photographer uncredited).

CONDITION:

The gradations of condition I use are as follows: MINT, Near-Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor.

The condition of the jacket is EXCELLENT. There is minor bumping at corners, as well as mild aging. However, there are no seam splits, bends, owners' markings, or other defects and the whole remains solid, bright, glossy, and highly attractive – overall, an excellent collector's copy.

The condition of the LP itself is near-MINT. Though the surfaces are not absolutely silent, really this is a very fine copy and the playback is superb. Only those requiring completely silent surfaces need hesitate. Overall, this rates as a lovely collector's copy.

USA Buyers: shipping delays from Spain (where I am) to the USA are extreme due to the current situation.
I apologize for the inconvenience, but I am advising USA buyers not to purchase from me at this time. Commercial shipping (e.g., UPS, DHL) is a possibility, but these are quite expensive and any such costs must be borne entirely by the buyer.
Please write with any questions, I will be happy to help.  - Posted 19 May 2020
