The Beatles 'Get Back' Glyn Johns Version Two (2nd Mix) 1970 CD. The history behind the recording of this unreleased album by The Beatles is a long and interesting story. I shall briefly describe it's origins here but much more detailed information is available on the internet.

'Get Back' is the ill-fated, unreleased studio album which The Beatles began recording in January 1969 as a follow up to the 'White Album'. The idea was to produce a back to basics live sounding album which would NOT use increasingly complex effects such as those featured on 'Sgt Pepper' and the 'White Album' but rather to concentrate on live, group musicianship.

The album was originally produced by Glyn Johns, The Beatles long standing engineer who in May 1969 showcased the finished product to the band. This became know as version one or the 1st mix. The Beatles could not agree whether they liked the finished product and rejected the album.

On the 15 December, the Beatles again approached Johns to compile an album, but this time with the instruction that the songs must match those included in the as yet unreleased Get Back film. Between 15 December 1969 and 8 January 1970, new mixes were prepared. Glyn Johns' new mix omitted "Teddy Boy" as the song did not appear in the film. It added "Across the Universe" (a remix of the 1968 studio version, as the January 1969 rehearsals had not been properly recorded) and "I Me Mine", on which only Harrison, McCartney and Ringo Starr performed. "I Me Mine" was newly recorded on 3 January 1970, as it appeared in the film and no multi-track recording had yet been made. This became know as version two or the 2nd mix (this album). The Beatles once again rejected the album. It remains with no  official release.

Sometime later the project was handed to Phil Spector who produced the final released version of the album which had now become 'Let It Be'. The album was nothing like as The Beatles had originally intended and was heavily over produced by Spector. By the time 'Let It Be' was released The Beatles were all but finished. This CD is a bootleg edition of the unreleased 1970 Glyn Johns (version two, 2nd mix) album. 

The package included here is one of the finest bootlegs I have ever seen. As the album was unreleased it is designed to look like a promotional acetate copy destined for review purposes.

• Original 'Get Back' designed cover with ‘Get Back’ sessions photographs and sleeve notes on the rear telling the story of the 'Get Back' album.

• Accurate reproduction Apple acetate CD label design.

• 'Apple Records' promotional poster. These originally came with a select few 'Let It Be' box sets.

• Back cover album style artwork with track listing, timing and photograph from the 'Get Back' sessions.

All in perfect MINT condition.
