The Rolling Stones : Dirty Work A1 / B1 1st Press 1986

This first pressing plays to the highest standard possible with no intrusion on the audio and easily qualifies as a FINAL UPGRADE.  The clarity, depth, power and warmth of the audio is sensational, there is just no background at all.  I suspect it has only been played once or twice if at all judging by the audio, the quality of the vinyl and the zero spindle wear.

The cover is still largely enclosed within the original dark red shrinkwrap with the large promotional sticker on the front, it has only minimal wear on the two right corners.  The lyric inner is also in excellent condition.

Visual description

The vinyl is in superb condition and still has an immaculate jet-black glossy sheen with no marks or scratches.  Under a bright light I can only detect a very small number of ultra faint sleeve removal hairlines, it is visually stunning.  The labels are also in perfect condition with no marking or spindle wear.

Play grading

A couple of dull clicks on the run in and then the intro on 'One Hit (To The Body)' plays perfectly with a very strong deep rich sound.  The opening vocal section is just as impressive and it continues to play with great power and clarity.  There are no negatives, no intrusion on the audio and the sonic quality is just how it would have sounded in '86.  A Mint start to the album.  Jimmy Page adding some strong work here.

'Fight' again plays with real power with Jagger particularly on fine form.  Sounding more vitriolic than ever there is such a raw power to his vocal and the music behind him plays with sublime quality also.  Mint

The cover on 'Harlem Shuffle' is as close to perfect as is possible.  I just heard one very quiet static sound not far from the end which lasts for no longer than half a second!  Mint- is fair.

'Hold Back' plays with outstanding power and depth without any background.  Jagger sounding very angry again which is perhaps something to do with his relationship with Richards at the time!  Very strong work from Watts on this track, the playback is superb from start to finish.  Mint

'Too Rude' plays with genuine depth and warmth with no intrusion.  Such a deep rich sound and obviously not in the Stones tradition but it nonetheless plays with Mint quality through every section.

----------------------------------------------------------

'Winning Ugly' and 'Back To Zero' both play with stunning precision with not even a dust tick for company.  'As new' sums it up perfectly, can't say it any simpler than that.  Mint

The title track 'Dirty Work' plays with phenomenal audio with a sonic quality that cannot be faulted.  It's clear this album has hardly been played if at all!  Another Mint track including the long fade out.

'Had It With You' again has no intrusion, there's nothing to detract from the audio and grades as Mint

The quiet piano intro on 'Sleep Tonight' plays beautifully and Richards' opening vocal is equal to that.  From then on it plays with a clarity and warmth that is second to none, it just could not play any better.  Every section plays with such quality and I often look at fade outs to judge the clarity on a record.  It's perfect here!  The 'hidden' track at the end 'Keys To The Highway' plays with stunning clarity also, both tracks a fitting tribute to Ian Stewart.  Mint

The Cover & Inner Sleeve

The cover as stated is still contained within the original dark red shrinkwrap with only a little of the right edge / opening edge showing.  Perhaps a good thing because the cover isn't their best!  It remains in excellent condition with only a little wear on the right top and bottom corner.  Apart from that it is very clean with no wear to the other corners and edges and there are no splits in the shrinkwrap.  It still has the original sticker firmly in place on the front cover.

The glossy lyric inner is in great shape with only a little creasing at the top and bottom of the right hand flipback.

Postage & Packaging

I will only send items items worldwide via tracked shipping.  This provides 'peace of mind' in case of loss or damage.  The shipping costs are shown below and combined shipping is always offered.  Any over-payment will always be refunded.

The Royal Mail only insure up to a value of £250 so if an item sells for more it may be wise to use a courier service (e.g. Parcelforce or DPD).  An extra insurance premium will be required but I will not know the exact amount until the final sale price is known.  Because of this I will sometimes have to estimate the cost and this will be shown in the listing.  Please wait for the invoice before making payment and if you have any questions please feel free to ask.  Many thanks.

All vinyls are packaged in strong over-sized custom made mailers with plenty of extra cardboard protection.  They are placed inside separate poly-lined inners outside the cover so as to avoid seam splits in transit and then placed inside a PVC sleeve to provide even more protection.  I pride myself on my high quality packaging as my feed confirms and if any customer has any specific requirements I am more than happy to help.

The mailers I use cost £1.00 each and I will use anything between 3-5 cardboard stiffeners which cost approx £0.18 each.  There is also the cost of the poly-lined inner and PVC sleeve to consider, it all adds up!  Not forgetting that eBay take 10% of the shipping fee also!!
