PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question.   OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week.   Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback.   We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. Thank you for your interest and support. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Very rare in clean shape (as this copy) = 1966 original IRISH beat garage collectible - recommended to any collectors into Van Morrison's Them or Them offshoot The Belfast Gypsies...   The location of the Lp centers around Ireland's #1 teen scene club, the Maritime Ballroom, which was the scene for Van Morrison & Them cutting their teeth. The album displays FIVE other obscure, interesting & ultimately great beat/garage bands from the years 1966 and 1967, when the beat scene was giving way to the nascent rock sound and psychedelia on the one hand, and teen-orientated garage/R&B on the other. "Irelands Greatest Sounds" serves up killer tracks by The Alleykatz, The Bats, Luvin’ Kind, Just Five and The People (who evolved into rock group Eire Apparent and recorded an album with Jimi Hendrix)...   The Just Five were one of five Belfast groups featured on this album, and Like Them, they played regularly at Belfast's Maritime Hotel, and played R&B-drenched rock with tremelo reverb snarl...
The Bats were another popular '60s Irish group that contributed the original tune "On the Waterfront," a really cool number with that angry, moody, bluesy edge typical of Belfast bands of the time, from Them downward. Although they did go to London in a drive for greater renown, and cut one single ("Accept It" b/w "Lovers Lie Sleeping") in 1964 for EMI-Columbia produced by Mickie Most, as well as three more singles for English Decca in 1966 and 1967, nothing happened for them on a larger scale.   The Alleykatz were yet one more of the now legendary teen-scene '60s Belfast groups included delivering "Chicago Calling," a moody blues gem written by British blues pioneer Cyril Davies. "Chicago Calling" represented a rare instance in which a British blues artist was interpreted.   The Luvin' Kind were one of the greatest unknowns from the '60s Belfast scene with a killer tough edged aggressive sound that sounded rather like the greatest Belfast band of all, Van Morrison & Them. The Luvin' Kind's "Answers Please" is one of the highlights of the album, with a raw and primitive Stones/Them punked-out vibe with cool R&B-rock edges, snarl vocals..."thee sound" Very unusual, even refreshing, selection in that its lyrics were not of the usual R&B mold, but a fairly dramatic and effective anti-nuclear bomb statement. They also feature another collectible track: "It's a Cruel World."   The People (not to be confused with the California "People!") contained Eric Wrixon, who had played organ in Them for a while and was in the group which evolved from Tony & the Telstars (which included Rod Demick, later to go on to the closest Them sound-alike ever, the Wheels). With George O'Hara on lead vocals, The People recorded two tracks, "I'm with You" (originally recorded by Liverpool band the Big Three) and "Well...All Right." The People had not planned on cutting these tunes, but were asked to record on the spot as they happened to be in the studio, both of the tracks being done in single takes after a soundcheck. Two of the members of the People lineup on these recordings, Ernie Graham and Davy Lutton, were later part of Eire Apparent.       The Alleykatz = The Friendly Undertaker
The Bats = On The Waterfront

Just 5 = Do not That Beat Them All

The People = Well ... All Right

Luvin 'Kind = It's A Cruel World

The Alleykatz= Chicago Calling

The Bats = People Like You

Just 5 = I Will Have You

The People = I'm With You

Luvin 'Kind = Please Answers
