MINT CLEAN VINYL ...

Original local Northern California East Bay (near Berkeley) band COMPANION were a guitar led band featuring a surprisingly sophisticated high-end talent, highly praised by those in-the-know.
We haven't seen or offered a copy in years despite the fact we hunt regularly through the East Bay and S.F. area; just not around and probably, judging the band efforts, most available copies are tucked away in collections around the globe.
The style and sound of Companion are not easy to convey. Unknown as they always have been, the have a decidedly West Coast sound, reminiscent of later '60s rural/hard rock Byrds with a very talented vocalist, with attention to the dazzling lead guitar accents and passages throughout the impressive self penned tunes.

One of those highly underestimated albums, if West Coast rock styles are of remote interest.
Read a report purported to advise "rural psych" - don't know where that tag applies but nevertheless one of those obscure overlooked bands where talents far exceeded their fortune.

We would advise the bands sound is closer to '69 era "DR Byrds & Mr. Hyde" & the Byrds sprawling '70 double "Untitled" LP. Even that comparison is vague, as is another report suggesting the double guitar led hard bluesy rock of the first Lynyrd Skynyrd.
No matter how you cut it "Companion" deserve wider appeal within the global collectors market.
Here's a nice original, not getting any easier to find closing in on 40 years past.
