BARRY WHITE THEMES Lp by THE CONTINENTAL SUPERSTAR ORCHESTRA & SINGERS (male lead vocals by LLOYD DOUGLAS). Original Italian pressing on UP INTERNATIONAL label (LPUP 5029), from 1976. Seldom heard, Italian-only item of obscure vocal and instrumental disco funk versions of classic Barry White anthems. Features a killer 7min alternative version of I'M GONNA LOVE YOU JUST A LITTLE BIT MORE BABY with hip hop cum BBoy drum breaks / funkier bassline / infectious piano vamps / wah wah / obsessive string arrangment and dare we say it... an overall sleazier ambience compared to Barry's original?!? The bass playing and drum skills get funkier and harder as the theme progresses. An edited down version of this amazing track has just been comped in Japan by DJ Toyo The Pimp (of Black Water Gold fame) for his Soul Travelin' euro funk and soul selection ;) We have also recorded an alternative version of BARRY'S THEME / a more blaxploitation sounding version of UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF LOVE with sexy female counterpoint harmony a la Love Unlimited and to finish, the snapping drums of their version of LOVE THEME that rivals the Enrico Simonetti / Vince Tempera version. Great for DJs. Booming production sound. Big beats / breaks and samples. Striking artwork sleeve. Our copy is in top condition which is a dream scenario for an item that is usually always trashed. Rare Lp (for us) as we have only ever found it twice in the last 10 years. Vinyl is closer to shiny M- condition overall with a few hairlines and light scuffs from sleeve removal and some faint, faded old pressing residue marks. Some light surface noises. Booming production sound. Item taken from an unplayed deadstock of records and played once for the recording of the soundclip. The soft card sleeve is closer to M- condition overall regardless of a few little areas of light wear from storage. Some dirt marks to back sleeve. Sharp looking item. Camera flash glare to sleeve and label photo. Rare Lp!!!
