A 1st issue of the WALL on the UK Harvest label in 1979. Matrix A2/B5/A1/B3. 'TML-M/X'. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold cover. Please note the original 1st issue cover is easily identified by the absence of the band members names in the brick directly above the 'baby in the cell'. All later reissues mention the band members names in purple in this brick. Also included are the original thick-card round cornered inner sleeves with notches at the top.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In absolutely superb condition and has clearly only seen light use. Under close inspection there are a couple of lights marks either side, but nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback with one slight deviation. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with superb clarity. If you are someone who is fussy about audio do seriously consider this LP. THE WALL is full of what is often very low-key audio and many copies suffer some sort of interference which can be off-putting with this title. We only detected a couple crackles in a couple of isolated moments and a couple of brief light ticks on disc 1. Certainly nothing vaguely invasive...this is a very clean playing copy. THE WALL remains a classic album and the audio on offer here will knock the socks off of anything you've heard before.
Cover (Ex) In beautiful condition and would grade a straight ex+ but for a tiny ding [described below]. Often found with a great deal of fading this example has totally avoided it - really rather impressive it is. Front and back are in great condition with just super light handling wear. The interior is pretty much immaculate, but for a tiny ding to the bottom edge 1.5 bricks to the right of the spine [very minor]. Edge wear is super light and overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. A stunning example by any measure.
Inners (Ex+) Borderline perfect. No splits. No nasty marks or creases.
