An original very 1st stereo press of BB on the UK Decca label. Matrix 1K/2K - the very earliest 1st cut. Stampers 1-B/1-U. And under the Buckingham sequence this pressing would have come from within the first 2,000 copies. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original G&L stereo cover with 'patents pending' [the very 1st design]. Also included is the original Decca inner sleeve dated to [108] October 1968 - 6 weeks prior to 1st release. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete. Sweeet!
Vinyl (Ex+) In lovely condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection I can only make out a few very light marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback with one tiny deviation. This really is a top-level copy..and as good as any I've witnessed. The audio is to die for....once you've heard a copy like this there's no going back - ha! Intros and inbetweens are really nice and quiet and the audio comes across with amazing clarity. Crank it right up to max - and all you'll get is perfectly resolved clean audio. Barely any sign of background at all. You might detect a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments per side -- but this is one supremely well preserved copy. I managed to detect one tick toward the end of 'Salt Of The Earth'.. otherwise a pretty much perfect rendition. Even in all those acoustic low-key passages...just clean and clear. Highly recommended..
Cover (Ex) Not perfect, but getting close. A super looking specimen with a lovely and shiny front and back with minimal ageing. There's very little creasing apparent, just a small patch of indentations on the rear [upper sector] - and a few very slight written indentations on the front [light enough that you have to tilt the cover into the light to even make them out]. The interior is superb very nice and flat with just a couple of minor creases. Edge wear is very light for this title. The spine is well above average too with a tiny stain right at the top end [5mm max]. Yes, there's a couple of minor stress creases, but it is structurally sound and all text is perfectly legible. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) Bit of ageing. And one 1 inch side split.
