An original 1st mono press of AYE on the UK Track label from 1967. Matrix A1/B1. Note that the label design is perfectly consistent with 1st press. And these 1st pressings were pressed super-heavy...nice! The vinyl comes housed in an original 1st issue mono cover printed by Ernest J Day. Also included is the original generic white inner which is poly-lined and includes the 'patent application'. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex) In superb condition and has only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of light marks per side, a couple on side 2 are low-level radial. I have paid extra attention to all of these - thanks to the heavy weight pressing none of this gets anywhere near the audio [guaranteed]. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT level of playback. I'm being cautious with the grading - this copy really is superb..I have certainly not ever witnessed better. These original mono copies do surface from time to time, but rarely do they look this darn good. It has clearly seen very light careful use down what is a considerable period of time. Intros and inbetweens are really nice and quiet and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. It's a truly clean player from start to finish - which makes it all the more impressive. No iffy passages....No a little bit of this or that. It's just solid and clean. Excellent fidelity delivered all the way through - a collector copy for sure. At worst you might detect a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments per side. It really is that good. Even the quieter tracks like 'Waterfall' play truly clean...which is a revelation. I have it cranked right up and it plays real sweet. I cannot fault it...
Cover (Vg+) Notorious for surfacing, usually, in quite bad condition. Take a look at a few of the other examples out there, first, to understand just how well this copy is preserved. The front is lovely and shiny and totally flat. There are three creases over at the opening, but in all other respects this cover really does look a peach. The rear is nearly always worn to buggery..but not here! The rear looks great with only very minor visible wear. All imagery and text is perfectly visible without discolouration or fading. All I can make out are a couple of very low-level blemishes in the grey background. Edge wear is pretty limited particularly given it's this title. Just a bit on the spine rendering the album name semi-legible. But the wear is all surface level - at no point is it heavy. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Ex) Barely any ageing. No splits.
