An original very 1st press of CHAP3 on the UK Vertigo label. Matrix 3/3 - very 1st cut. Please note that the label design is perfectly consistent with very 1st press. There's the large Vertigo swirl above the spindle whole and VERTIGO is mentioned at the foot of the label. And importantly, to qualify for genuine 1st, the labels must also mention 'Philip Product' at the foot of the label too. The heavy-set vinyl come housed in an original gatefold cover with the genuine Vertigo swirl inner too. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete. If you're looking for ULTIMATE audio...then read on!
Vinyl (Ex+) In absolutely marvellous condition and has clearly only seen the very lightest use. Under close inspection I'm struggling to make out a single mark. The surfaces look like mirrors..truly astounding considering the passage of time. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT+ level of playback without reservation. An absolute top level performer....I can't really imagine any other copy getting close to this rendition. It just aces it in ALL areas. A perfectly quiet background, fantastic resolution, amazing dynamics. If you are an audiophile who is really seeking the absolute top-level this title has to offer..then do seriously consider this copy because, I can assure you, you won't find anything better. All those querky off-time magic moments are delivered with aplomb, accuracy and a perfectly silent backdrop. And it makes the music all the more enticing hearing it so vividly without anything to distract your attention. You might detect a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments per side. But basically this is as good as you could possibly hope for. FINAL UPGRADE..no sweat.
Cover (Vg+) Not quite up to the standard of the vinyl, but more than respectable. Just a touch of light wear around the edges front and back [very very typical sort of level]. But the cover remains nice and flat without creasing or distortion. The interior is immaculate and without fault. Edge wear is relatively light and the openings still sharpish. The spine looks really good with all text just about all legible - there's a bit of observable wear. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. A very fine original example.
Inner (Vg+) Light ageing. No splits.
